As is often the case after the start of an Iran war, the US corporate media, whether “left” or “right” leaning, is reporting on the war in ways that differ from what is being reported outside the US media.
Here are two very fresh interviews, both only about 30 minutes long, that give the “other side” of last weekend’s events with talks in Islamabad that JD Vance “led” as well as views on the current “siege” of the Strait of Hormuz by the US military.
In Wall Street Journal actually published a report saying that the US was planning to kill the Iranian delegation, forcing them to secretly return to Iran after the meetings.
Professor Seyed Marandiya, who lives and teaches in Tehran and is an American citizen, was actually at the talks, and at the time of this report, this is his last interview with Glen Deezen.
He states that the Iranians are fully expecting and preparing for the resumption of Israeli and US attacks.
He stated “Netanyahu and Zionism are pushing the world towards economic disasterand he also stated that if they attack Iran’s energy infrastructure again, they will attack the infrastructure of the rich Persian Gulf countries, starting with the United Arab Emirates. they can completely destroy it in 1 day.
Marandiya also states something that I can personally confirm is true that the Arab countries around the Arabian Peninsula are entering their summer season where the heat is unbearable, where no one does anything outside during the day because it is so hot and American soldiers never survive daytime operations in such heat.
Iran’s summer, on the other hand, is not that hot and he said that today in Tehran you can look at the northern mountains where there is still snow and you need a jacket to go outside.
I lived in Saudi Arabia about 4 years ago in the 1990’s and stayed in Saudi Arabia for one summer because I taught English at their university and was paid to teach double in the summer because most of the foreign teachers went back to their home countries for the summer.
Air conditioning is a life and death situation in those days, and when someone’s air conditioner went out in the faculty residence, it was imperative that it be fixed immediately, and they had a large staff managing the energy infrastructure, mostly Filipinos at that time.
So, when Marandi says that if the power goes out in one of these Gulf states during the hot season, EVERYONE should leave, he’s not lying, he’s telling the truth.
In the second interview between Pepe Escobar and Judge Napolitano, Escobar stated that the Iranians would not return to Islamabad for a second round of “negotiations” but would only agree to a place in Russia or China.
Russian diplomat Sergey Lavrov is in Beijing today and allegedly assured China that if Russia fails to continue supplying oil to China through the Strait of Hormuz.
Escobar also says that there is currently no real blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

One thing that appears to have happened since these two recent interviews is that Iran has reportedly now suspended all of its petrochemical exports to ensure domestic supplies amid reduced local availability following Israeli strikes earlier this month.
It doesn’t matter that the US has an “embargo” that prevents Iran from shipping oil from its ports, if Iran doesn’t send any oil anyway, it will keep it all for itself to meet the energy needs of its people.

Iran has suspended all its petrochemical exports to ensure domestic supplies amid reduced local availability following Israeli strikes earlier this month.
The Islamic Republic is suspending all exports to prevent a supply crisis for its industry and raw materials, local economic newspaper Donya-e-Ektesad reported on Thursday.
Iranian media reports that a senior official of the National Petrochemical Company issued an order earlier this week. According to the directive, exports will be suspended until further notice.
The export freeze is in order to support Iran’s downstream industries and consumers following the damage caused by the recent attacks and to ensure sufficient supply in the domestic market, according to the directive.
In early April, Israel struck several key petrochemical production centers in Iran, including the Mahshahr Special Petrochemical Zone in southeastern Iran and the country’s largest petrochemical complex in Asaluya. Asaluya petrochemical plants account for almost half of Iran’s petrochemical production.
Iran was forced to shut down some of these facilities after Israeli attacks on April 4 and 6 damaged power lines and food supplies for petrochemical plants.
Despite the increase in global prices, the Iranian authorities kept the price of petrochemicals and related products at the pre-war level. Prices will remain low as Iran seeks to support its domestic industry and consumers.
According to the estimates of the state media, Iran exports 29 million tons of petrochemical products annually, which has an annual income of about 13 billion dollars.
