“Unfinished business”: Chris Bumstead announces new partnership with Gymshark

Chris Bumstead has kept himself very busy during his retirement.

As the six-time Classic Physique Mr. Olympia winner calls it a career in 2024, he’s set to achieve even more personal milestones. He married his longtime partner, Courtney; second child, Blake Jayne; and has remained consistently active on social media, where she shares her routines for performance-oriented fitness as well as inspirational messages for her followers.

But that was not all he did.

For the past few months, the Canadian bodybuilding legend has been secretly working on a new project that will shake up the fitness landscape: He’s designed his first official apparel with Gymshark, which is set to launch on May 7, 2026 at 2:00 PM ET (11:00 AM PT). / 20:00 CEST / 19:00 BST).

The limited-edition capsule collection, titled “Unfinished: Gymshark X Cbum,” presents a fresh take on fashion from Bumstead himself that showcases not only his unique perspective on life, but his continued commitment to fitness post-retirement.

And now you can wear it!

“I called this collection ‘unfinished’ because I realized there was no finish line in any of this,” Bumstead said. “The work in the gym, the work on ourselves, the work in life – it goes on. Not because we are incomplete, but because growth and success are not only the result of the search … they are, in fact, the point of it.”

He also compared this concept of “Unfinished” to the ancient Greek myth of Sisyphus, who was condemned to eternal punishment, requiring him to push a boulder up a hill – only to have it roll back down every time he tried. Like Sisyphus, Bumstead found a new joy and purpose in his never-ending quest to conquer his difficult regime.

He has since embraced the belief that the finish line isn’t the goal – it’s what you do along the way that matters.

Putting the finishing touches on “incomplete”

Previously, Bumstead joined Gymshark as an athlete in 2018, but parted ways with the company after four years to focus on creating his own product and clothing line. He returned to Gymshark in 2024 as an athlete and shareholder.

A month after announcing his return to Gymshark, he released a limited edition “Gymthark” t-shirt that sold out almost immediately.

If you haven’t been able to get your hands on his originals, rest assured – the new Bumstead collection will include an assortment of 10 different pieces: from a washed hoodie, a ribbed tank, a raglan tee, a boxer sleeve tee and a graphic tee, to a workwear jacket, sports shorts and lightweight pants, a fashionable hockey shirt.
