Fortune’s latest novel follows Frankie and George, best friends since childhood, who end up fighting each other. But when Frankie’s fiancée dumps him on the weekend of their wedding, George, who was supposed to be her best man, suggests they take her honeymoon together and travel to the beautiful Canadian beach town of Tofino for a week. But as they travel through lush forests, misty beaches, and, of course, their romantic honeymoon suite, Frankie and George are forced to confront unspoken feelings, long-buried secrets, and the possibility that their friendship might be something else.
That is, if it does not completely disappear. We asked Fortune a few questions. Here’s what she had to say…
Q: What’s the last thing you read that you can’t stop thinking about?
Luck: Bad words by Royal Robinson. This is the first romance novel to be published in October, about a book reviewer and an author whose novels have been scorned. This is absolutely wonderful.
Q: What’s a corner of the internet you’ve discovered recently?
Luck: Jack Savoie red carpet analysis on Instagram. It is very happy.
Q: One place everyone should visit?
Luck: Canada. Prince Edward Island for seafood lovers, Ontario’s cottage country for the pinnacle of Canadian lake life, and Tofino for its ancient rainforests and luscious beaches.
