Listening to Your Soul’s Whispers – Healthy.net

I’m a dreamer, and as John Lennon said, I know I’m not the only one. Ever since I was a little girl, I was always drawn to trying new things. In high school I dreamed of playing guitar like Sheryl Crow. In college, I imagined traveling the world with just a simple backpack. And now, in my late thirties, my heart longs to always feel calm and cool like the Dalai Lama.

Many people have told me that my dreams are a way to escape from my reality, and for years I believed this to be true, but now I realize that dreams are just a fun way our souls teach us about our lives. Your dreams illuminate the life path your soul wants you to take.

The reason you are here in your own body is to experience and act on your dreams. From the moment of your conception, your soul chose you (and the skin you wear) because you are perfect for the purpose and mission your soul wants you to experience.

Another 7.6 billion people live on Earth. Since most of us humans are designed in a similar way, what makes each of us real are our special burning passions and whatever makes our hearts beat. We all have unique things that amaze us, excite us and inspire us. For some people it might be music or writing; for others, it may be a particular sport or perhaps creating a successful career. There is no limit to what we are passionate about. What do you do just because you love it?

This wild part of you that wants to do certain things, your soul is asking you to develop. If you think you weren’t born to spend 75 percent of your life in a job you hate or in a marriage that makes you bored and angry, your soul is asking you to change. If you’re looking for a sign to finally start making the changes you want to see in your life, maybe this search itself is the sign you need.

Every year, a wagtail migrates from Alaska to New Zealand on a journey that takes about nine days, the longest relative flight of any bird on the planet. Like God, every animal on earth is destined to embark on great journeys that at first feel scary and scary, but are an essential part of our life’s journey. The purpose of our human life is to follow the magnetic migration of our soul – to listen to the guidance of our soul, our intuition, and then act on it.

In humans, this instinctive call from within often comes to us in our dreams. Dreams guide us on our personal migration routes, just as caribou, whales, butterflies, and many species of birds, including gods, have their own internal migration guidance system. Our individual journeys are as unique to us as our fingerprints.

You were born to be wild; it couldn’t be clearer. You are here to live the wild adventures that your soul is always calling you to, as these heart desires guide you to grow and develop in specific ways on your spiritual path.

Intuition

Dreams are just one of the many ways intuition speaks to us. Our dreams often appear on the quietest of nights, like the north star in a dark desert sky. At least that’s how my intuitive messages came to me. When I stop doing and being to listen, in these moments my dreams always demand my attention.

The famous Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung defined intuition as “our perception through the unconscious” and went on to say that perception using our senses – sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch – is only a starting point. In fact, we generate ideas, images, possibilities, and/or ways out of a stuck situation through a process that is largely unconscious. Scientifically, intuition is considered knowledge in the absence of analytical evidence or logic.

Intuition is the way we perceive the world through the lens of our soul, not through our mind or expectations. Intuitive messages come from a deeper place in our consciousness than the thinking mind. You can’t think your way into making an intuitive decision; intuition can only be felt through excitement, curiosity, and passion—inexplicable desires. When the spark of a wild idea or crazy dream comes to you and fills your mind with the delight of what it could be, you are receiving messages from your soul.

Our intuition is a soft spoken, subtle voice that whispers from the deepest, subconscious inside. Intuition sounds remarkably weak when we first start tuning into it, so many people probably ignore it. The more we train ourselves in this language of soul whispers, the louder and clearer it becomes.
