In episode 286 Threat podcastDennis James was joined by Chris Cormier and Milos Sarsev and after seeing it Samson Dauda guest at Pittsburgh Pro 2026the panel compared the Nigerian lion to one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, Ronnie Coleman.
Samson Dauda, after his victory in 2024 in Olympia, won the fourth place in 2025. With her wealth back in mind, Dauda explained that she sacrificed her size for conditioning, resulting in a less perfect package on stage. This year, British-Nigerian physical culture has clearly shown its terrible intentions and looked great in recent progress pictures circulating online.
At Pittsburgh Pro 2026, this breakthrough was finally shared on stage as a guest-presentation routine alongside Mr. Olympia, Derek Lunsford, and arch-rival Andrew Jackd. While Threat podcast panel felt that all three men looked incredible, host Dennis James believed that the comparison between Samson Dauda and Ronnie Coleman was apt.
How does Samson Dauda compare to Ronnie Coleman?
Actor Bob Chicherillo said it best in Dauda’s introduction to The Guest Show on May 17. “There’s big, there’s bigger, and then there’s this guy,” he announced before Dauda, who weighed somewhere in the region of 350 kilos, was treading the boards. While Dennis James wasn’t surprised by the physique of consecutive competition winner Andrew Jacked, he also took a moment to express his admiration for Derek Lunsford’s achievement. “Derek was brave,” he told Chris Cormier and Milos Sarcev. However, as far as Dauda is concerned, The Menace really impressed. “Point number two, I’ve never seen a bodybuilder this big in my entire life,” said the host, who is a former Mr. Universe.
Cormier shared his approval, noting that despite his size, Dauda’s stomach is still defined. “And I’ve seen Ronnie (Coleman),” James continued. “Listen, if you see Ronnie at 330 pounds guest portraying, of course he’s the same size and probably bigger (legs). I don’t know if the legs get bigger or not. Samson was pretty bad.”
Mentioned in a conversation with Ronnie Coleman is an addition that Samson Dauda was pleased to hear. The man they call “The King” shares the all-time record for Olympic wins, along with Lee Haney, with eight titles between 1998 and 2005. Dauda hopes to add his second title this year.
“I don’t want to say (Dauda) was bigger than Ronnie, because I don’t think anybody was bigger than Ronnie, but at the same time, I’d like to see him next to Andrew,” James said. “And I hate to say it for him, next to Andrew, you know, Andrew was in shape, so don’t get me wrong, he also created more of an illusion because he was still in shape. But, next to Samson, he looked kind of threadbare.”
Cormier agreed, noting that Jack looked “slim” compared to Dauda. “Yeah, don’t let me say yarn,” James said, correcting in favor of Cormier’s grade. Chris Cormier continued that after what he saw on the stage in Pittsburgh, he thought that the 2026 Olympics could be a competition between current and former champions.
