The value of self-mastery

We carry so much silently inside our bodies. Sometimes we even find ourselves it just has to be turned off to save it. This “turning off” often leads to isolation, abandonment, and self-centeredness just to get through the day. We are the last to meet our own needs and the first to shoulder the burden for everyone else. We fall behind while we spend all our time, effort, and energy on anything that is not ours.

What starts to feel normal when it shouldn’t?

Time is short, don’t worry, we’ll throw in a bath, a meal, a treat, fun… You name it, we’ll miss it. If things don’t go right, we are victims every time. We lose ourselves in the process and sometimes never come back.

It’s not fair or right, but it’s certainly become the status quo for many women today. This becomes the model we live in now. Every day turns into every month, which turns into every year.
We are lost and betrayed and no longer feel at home in our own lives.

We are slowly losing our peace, opportunity and hope for the future. We put aside all memories of who we used to be and who we were or should be in that which is gone forever.

Stress and fatigue take on a life of their own, and you can only lose the bare minimum. This
Chronic stress causes emotional numbness just to survive. Hyper-productivity is the only thing left on the table.

In this way, women gradually withdraw from themselves.

Separation price

This separation costs us our peace, our trust, our presence and our truth in order to survive. Because shutting down our emotions can feel like the only way to survive. We have betrayed ourselves and then stop feeling it to protect us from the pain of the truth.

Before long, we become completely disconnected from our senses, our body’s wisdom, and our inner peace.

This is becoming the new normal. We no longer recognize ourselves, but observe peace among others. But we feel like empty shells of what we once were.

This happens when the body is treated as the most important thing in the room.

Restoring confidence with your body

First of all, it should be recognized that something is wrong. Things need to change or change for you to get better. If you can’t see that, you don’t know where to adjust. But if you look deep into your soul…you will know. This is a worthwhile endeavor and you are the only one who can do it.

It starts with realizing that this is no longer sustainable. What was once necessary no longer feels safe. You start making little adjustments here and there. New intentions where you fall on the line of importance. Small choices that involve you. Keep the contracts you make with yourself. This is really the key. Stop holding on to the status quo and choose you instead, now and every time. It gets easier and easier and feels more right with each turn.

This does not mean that you are no longer available to others, family, friends and the most important people in your life; it’s just not on your account anymore.

What does security really feel like?

If you are lucky enough to lift the fog, then you begin the work of rebuilding confidence in yourself and your body. Find new habits and patterns that lead back to you.

Since you’ve been frozen for so long, the only way back is slow and steady. This is what your nervous system can handle and you just have to start listening…

Listening within

With time and practice, that soft voice that used to be for everyone and everything but you… is now online. You’ve come full circle and you know what it’s like to lose yourself and now you know what it’s like to find yourself again.

It doesn’t happen without going inside. You have to take these moments and be with yourself in the discomfort. Because when you really listen to your inner self, your body will have a lot to say. It will communicate with you exactly what needs to be fixed and perfect from this point on.

You can take a few steps forward and then a few more steps back, but that’s just how the growth process works, and if you keep the distance with you, you’ll move forward and start the healing process.

Gentle healing

The point is: we are self-healing and self-correcting people. Our bodies are always seeking balance, whether we realize it in our current circumstances or not. We look for this in every case. This is the analysis that occurs in our heads and the insecurities or stories we have about ourselves, our health and our future disrupt this process.

You see, gentle healing is really the key, because gentleness holds you, supports you, and is what makes your healing possible. The more you push, focus or resist this process, the sicker you become.

That way, you’re making gentle changes to your diet, not so much that you shock your system. You can make daily movement easier, manage your stress better and take time for yourself. Wear your oxygen mask every day. You prioritize sleep and go for things that regulate your nervous system better. Maybe you’ll do something you’ve been meaning to do, whether it’s journaling, making music, going for daily walks, or consciously creating more joy and making more time for you and the things you love.

Incarnation

What can now be familiar, safe, normal and all-encompassing. Does this mean you are cured and you will never struggle again? Not necessarily, but it becomes your new avatar. What if your new normal embodied you as a priority? You have become a person who values your care and love.

Did you know that when you put on your oxygen mask first, you can help a lot of people around you? I know this can feel counterintuitive to us caregivers. But that’s what got us here to begin with. This idea or concept that we are the ones to make it better for everyone.

If you embody the same energy for yourself as you do for the people around you… You will find that you are still holding all the pieces together. That you are as capable and able to support those you love, not at the expense of you, your health, your sanity and your life.
