While the Skin Cancer Foundation advises apply a nickel-sized dollop of SPF to your whole face, did you know that you can too add to that foundation with makeup? It turns out that dozens of brands now formulate products with SPF so that you can maximize your coverage. We’re covering eight makeup brands with SPF that won’t feel sticky, heavy, or leave you feeling white. Let’s get to it…
Objectives
Founded by celebrity makeup artist Nikki DeRest. Ciele Cosmetics is a modern makeup brand with every product (yes, even a concealer) has sun protection. The brand first came up thanks to my radar Interesting review of Abbey Yung in your Tint & Protect, skin color SPF 50 with built-in coverage. Now I look this powder turns red which have SPF 45.
Ultra Violet
Last summer was truly the summer that SPF brand Australia had Ultra Violet exploded in the states. While I personally love Next screena mineral-based sunscreen with a bronze and shimmer finish, Sequin Supreme is a moisturizer, make-up primer and sun protection in one. That being said, I highly recommend the brand Screen Preen. This is a great face spray with SPF 50 that makes reapplying sunscreen over makeup almost effortless. Don’t forget to add this dark pink lip balm to your cart too.
Color science
I tried it Favorite color changing sunscreen by Colorescience a few years ago and have been a longtime fan of the brand ever since. Flex Full sun protection shield comes in six customizable shades that blend and adapt to your skin tone. If you’re looking for a sustainable option to reapply makeup, I’d go brush powder version. I love it too this discolored under eye serum for no makeup days when I just want a little coverage.
Prequel
While the prequelIts sole focus is not SPF, I felt it was important to call out the brand Lip visor. It’s the only SPF lip product I’ve tried that isn’t sunflower-flavored, and the brand just launched four new shades. Choose from clear and tinted versions, all of which contain SPF 30. The color payoff in these is amazing.
Naked Sundays
Our editors love the bronzer drops that soak into your skin. These drops from Naked Sundays SPF 50 and have a watery texture. You can apply them with your fingers or with a makeup sponge. Don’t forget the brand Tinted moisturizer approved by celebritiestoo. You can build it to have the coverage level of a foundation; makeup artists have used it for red carpets and TV shows.
Supergoop
Supergoop is a tried and true SPF brand for me and I buy it Any watery face lotion in repetition. The brand is said to have dozens of trim options including this highlighter stick is packed with SPF, classic Glowscreen primer (which you can wear under makeup or on its own), and these new tubes with SPF 40.
Laura Mercier
A tinted moisturizer isn’t what it is without Laura Mercier. There are many versions and finishes, including Unclear Matt, Natural nightand now red and Bronzer options (note: they don’t have SPF). I love this because there are so many different shades and it’s a seamless makeup product that looks great no matter what your skin tone is.
Ilya
Ilyas Super Serum skin color is another SPF hero product that I can’t stop recommending. It differs from other tinted SPF products in that it actually has a serum texture, but with color correcting coverage from light to medium concealer. It has SPF 40 and comes in 30 shades. The brand also just launched it Solar mineral cellar. It has SPF 50 and can be used as a moisturizing base with sunscreen. I personally wear it under my Super Serum Skin Tint.
