CaseSafe Checked Baggage in July, 375 dollars
How we tested…
-
We tested the CaseSafe suitcase over several trips in July, looking at durability, tracking functionality, ease of use, and how much it can hold. We also paid close attention to the quality of details such as zippers, handles and wheels when traveling.
Why we tested…
Results Margo…
-
Easy setup. July’s CaseSafe line has a built-in tracker, so you can keep tabs on your luggage. It integrates with Apple’s FindMy and Android’s Find Hub apps. Setup is incredibly simple and took me about two minutes to complete this video. All I had to do was find the back of the tracker inside the suitcase, peel off the plastic sheet, open the FindMy app on my phone, and follow the instructions from there.

Organization and size. I love the overall design of this suitcase. One side has a larger zippered compartment, while the other has an adjustable zipped divider. There’s even a built-in nylon laundry bag that folds neatly into a zippered side compartment. The tested size is suitable for most trips. I took myself on a long vacation trip where I needed about five outfits, two pairs of shoes, toiletries, and one pair of pajamas, and I had room to spare.
-
Continuity. While I’m not usually a hard suitcase girl, I really like the reinforced corner bumpers and the German Aerospace grade polycarbonate shell. I found that my suitcase could be dropped and I didn’t have to worry about my belongings getting damaged. The downside is that these durable materials made the suitcase feel a little heavier to me. That said, I give it bonus points for its water-resistant, rust-proof coating that cleans up easily. I also found the zippers to be thick and sturdy, which is a must if you’re a heavy knitter and don’t want to worry about a broken zipper.
-
Wheels. I think the SilentMove™ wheels were what sold me on this suitcase. As the name suggests, they are more relaxed and are so smooth, you hardly need to push or pull to get momentum. They move 360 degrees, so you can move from the airport without delay.
-
Price. It goes without saying that this suitcase is a slim one. It seems to me that the quality is good for the price. The July offer behind this suitcase is that if you buy this suitcase, you don’t need to put an Apple AirTag inside your suitcase. If you have forgotten, it may be worth your while. I still feel that if you want to save some money, you might as well just buy one Apple Airtag ($29 each) and always keep them in your suitcases. If you’re looking for a new suitcase with all the bells and whistles, I still recommend this one.

Continuity. Ali Napoli, our Senior Commercial Director, also tested this suitcase with me. He raved about how sturdy the outer shell is (especially with the reinforced edges) and found the built-in TSA lock to feel secure.
-
Wheels. Her favorite part about the wheels is that they can handle a lot of weight; extra weight placed on top (such as luggage or personal items) will not catch the wheels. They generally roll smoothly and easily.
-
Storage bag. This suitcase comes with a padded storage bag which is a nice extra touch for the price you pay to protect the suitcase during storage.
Sides…
-
The CaseSafe July luggage comes in seven different sizes, but we’re going for it main transfer and checked versions to cover your bases.
-
It does not have a weighing device. If we’re going to spend that much on a suitcase, we’d love for it to help us save extra money in the long run.
-
Ali noted that his retractable handle sometimes gets stuck when he puts it on, which in turn causes some lag when he’s in a rush. I haven’t had this problem myself, but July has a lifetime warranty for the production defaults.
