In episode 290 threat podcast, Dennis James and regular advisors Milos Sarcev and Chris Cormier joined special guest William Bonak, who explained that at 44 years old, he’s still seeing progress in his body, isn’t taking a break anymore, and doesn’t want to be drowned out by negative voices.
William Bonak has reached the finals after an impressive victory at the 2026 Olympics. IFBB Tsunami Nutrition Showdown Pro June 6, and hopes to improve on the ninth place finish he achieved last year in the ‘O’.
Bonac was a prolific competitor when it came to the Olympia. In fact, 2026 will mark his twelfth appearance at bodybuilding’s most prestigious show. However, many observers noted that Bonac’s best results may be behind him. That’s because after finishing second in 2019, the big man hasn’t finished in the top five since 2020. Fortunately, she told TMP that she prefers to look ahead and focus.
“I don’t listen to what other people say,” explained Bonak. “I don’t care what they think. But that’s what I see and what my coach sees.” The open division competitor explained that the progress updates are a constant source of encouragement for him as his body continues to change. “A lot of people say yes, but you looked better in your prime and blah, blah, blah, and I don’t see it that way,” he said.

How Bonak Avoids Regrets in Competitive Bodybuilding
“The way I look at it now, every time I want to hang my trunk, I’m like, ‘Hey, my body is getting better,'” Bonak explained of his desire to continue competitive bodybuilding. “And I don’t want to regret anything, you know?”
While the current Mr. Olympia, Derek Lunsford is only 33 years old, he is the oldest Mr. Olympia of all time. Chris Dickerson who was 43 years old, after a long time Sean Rodenwho was also 43 years old, but a few months younger.
Bonak has taken a break from bodybuilding in the past, but he says he’s ready for the Sin City road. “I can’t say, ‘Hey, I’m going to stop again,'” said the famous bodybuilder. “It’s a waste of time again, you know, I have to restore muscle tissue and so on.” Bonak opened up to the gang and realizes that one day he will hang up the trunks for good, but certainly not while he feels that his body is improving.
