How one food can damage your arteries and lungs

What happens within hours of eating a high-fat meal?

We are it is only as old as our veins. What can we do to maintain vascular function as we age? Poor diet and sedentary behavior can lead to unwanted aging processes, such as the breakdown of our cells’ tiny power plants, which can lead to the formation of free radicals, oxidative stress and inflammation, which leads to vascular dysfunction, which can lead to cardiovascular disease.

In a series of videos I made about ten years ago, I was discussed Important research showing that a high-fat meal can disrupt artery function for hours after consumption, compared to a low-fat meal, as you can see below and at 1:04 in my video. Saturated fat causes inflammation of the arteries and lungs.

High-fat food in the school disabled arterial function consisted of sausage and egg McMuffins from McDonald’s. How do we know if the sausage, egg or cheese was the culprit? How about bad carbs in a cookie or something else? Because the low-fat meal that didn’t hurt the arteries was a sugary mess of Frosted Flakes carbs.

Just when your arterial function finally starts to recover, after five or six hours – it’s time for lunch! Then, your veins can be flooded with another load of meat, eggs, milk or fat. Why does it? problem What happens to your body after eating? Because most of us spend about 16 hours a day in that post-meal state, constantly hitting our arteries. No wonder cardiovascular disease is our number one killer.

And not only that to ignite the veins of our heart, but also our lungs. “Excess fat exposure increases airway inflammation and slows bronchodilator recovery in asthma.” When people with asthma coughed up sputum from their lungs four hours after eating one type of high-fat meal, the inflammatory cells in the high-fat meal group increased, as you can see below and at 2:12 in mine. video.

Regarding lung function, when given two puffs of their inhalers (containing albuterol or ventolin), their airways open after a low-fat meal. But after a high-fat meal, the same inhaler dose doesn’t work as well, and after a few hours because of all the extra inflammation in their lungs, as you can see below and at 2:29 in mine. video.

What you eat to determine How do you breathe?

But those study participants were people with asthma. Well, researchers found that even people without asthma have the same bunch of inflammatory cells in the sputum they cough up from their lungs four hours after eating what in this case was “Jimmy Dean’s meat lover’s breakfast bowl.”

And there are not only more inflammatory cells; a doubling of the amount of oxidized LDL cholesterol, which is absorbed by the type of white blood cells that form foam cells. These are the cells that build up the inflammatory pus in your artery walls, causing a heart attack. All of this happens within hours of eating the pizza, in this case. Your blood fat goes up and so do your endotoxin levels, as you can see below and at 3:16 in my video.

Endotoxins are components of bacterial cell walls and foods such as meat can be contaminated with bacteria—living and dead—that accumulate endotoxins. We’re talking about red meat and white meat, as you can see below and at 3:28 in my video.

But a recent study (published in 2020) suggests that the main culprit is not endotoxins, but the fat itself. The saturated fat floating in your bloodstream after an unhealthy meal can directly cause inflammation. In any case, we are responsible for what we eat, the food we eat, in developing risk factors for chronic metabolic disease.
