Last week, US District Judge Emmett Sullivan ordered Trump’s Department of Justice (DOJ) to return unredacted versions of some of Epstein’s files that had been heavily redacted.
Finally: Judge orders government to release remaining Epstein files in Kathy Fang lawsuit

On May 1st, my friend Katie Fang joined us for five questions. Four days ago, he sued Todd Blanche over the DOJ’s failure to fully release the Epstein files under the Transparency Act.
At the time I called it a “new but very elegant theory”.
And tonight, I can successfully add.
This afternoon, the judge ruled in his favor.
The terms of the order require the Justice Department to correct parts of the incomplete production of the Epstein files by correcting the following deficiencies in its compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which Congress passed last year:
- Redacted the names of senders and recipients in at least eight email exchanges involving Jeffrey Epstein about “torture videos” and sexual activity with young women, including minors.
- Without redacting the names of potential defendants identified in the draft indictment, the names of individuals identified as potential co-conspirators, and the names of individuals who were senders and recipients of internal DOJ email briefings on the indictment.
- Records of FBI interviews with the victim allege that in the 1980s, when she was about 13 years old, Epstein introduced her to Donald Trump, who assaulted her.
- Review and production of foreign language materials, all of which have not previously been included.
- Publishing reports detailing edits made to documents and their reasons.
This certainly covers a lot of ground; it’s all very controversial. This is material which the Act expressly required to be produced, and which the Government has simply refused to produce, without giving reasons justifying its withholding under the Act.
Now, a federal judge has called the DOJ’s bluff. (Full article.)
The DOJ has until July 2 (Thursday of this week) to implement the court order.
One of the pending unredacted files is the case of Kathy Johnson, known as “Jane Doe 4” in the Epstein files, and the FBI notes on her case since 2019. Many, including Congressman Thomas Massey, have criticized the DOJ for redacting the files.

In April 2016, a woman named “Kathy Johnson” filed a federal lawsuit in Riverside, California, accusing Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein of raping and assaulting her at Epstein’s Manhattan mansion in 1994 during a series of parties.
The suit, filed without legal representation, alleged that Johnson was lured to the events by promises of a modeling career, and alleged that both men subjected her to “sexual harassment under threat of harm” and “conspiracy to deprive her of her civil rights” and sought $100 million in damages.
The complaint contains graphic details, including that Trump allegedly tied her to a bed, sexually assaulted her, threatened her and her family to keep quiet, and referred to another girl named “Maria” who was reportedly missing. A supporting affidavit from “Tiffany Dow,” an unnamed witness who claims to have worked for Epstein, corroborated Johnson’s account, claiming she had recruited Johnson and witnessed the assaults.
That initial lawsuit was dismissed in May 2016 by a U.S. District Judge for failing to cite a valid civil rights claim, with the judge noting that those statutes did not apply to the claims and that Johnson, who is claiming indigency, could not be exempt from court costs.
Johnson, now represented by lawyers and using the pseudonym “Jane Doe,” filed another similar lawsuit in June 2016 in New York federal court, repeating the 1994 rape allegations but redacting some details, such as denying allegations of abortion or racial slurs at Trump.
A third version of the lawsuit was filed in September 2016 again in New York with affidavits from “Tiffany Dow” and another unnamed witness who claimed Johnson had believed them at the time.
The documents allege Trump knew Johnson was 13 and described multiple sexual encounters, including a role play. However, on November 2, 2016, a few days before the presidential election, Johnson was scheduled to appear at a press conference organized by attorney Lisa Bloom to reveal his identity.
According to Bloom, she canceled suddenly, citing “numerous threats” that left her “terribly afraid.”
Two days later, on November 4, 2016, his attorney, Thomas Meagher, filed a notice to voluntarily dismiss the case without explanation.
Since then, Johnson has not been heard in public and no criminal charges have been filed. (Full article.)

With this new court order to suppress the FBI’s interviews with Cathy, aka Jane Doe 4, The Guardian today reports that he fears for his life and is now hiding on the net.
Epstein, Trump’s alleged victim and accuser, lives in fear of retaliation, relatives say

“He fights as hard as he can.”
The woman had four interviews with FBI agents in 2019 that will resurface in the Epstein sex-trafficking scandal.
She is one of the only alleged victims of Epstein to directly accuse Trump, and irregularities in the Justice Department’s handling of her cases have now become a rallying point for critics of Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, who is running for a permanent appointment.
A federal judge in Washington last week gave Blanche until July 2 to produce unredacted versions of the files the Justice Department has already released or explain why it cannot produce the unredacted records.
The Department of Justice was also ordered to release interview notes about the Jane Doe 4 allegations. The decision was part of a civil case against Blanche brought by journalist Cathy Fang.
Late Friday, the Justice Department’s No. 3 official, Stanley Woodward, announced he was joining the case.
“They really don’t want these documents to be published,”
tweeted Brendan Ballou, a lawyer with the Public Integrity Project who is representing Fang.
Will the DOJ enforce the law and this judge’s order by Thursday?
Not likely! They will probably appeal it or deny it altogether because they don’t want some of the files that include Trump’s sexual activity with Epstein and underage children to be released.
While I was able to find this story from The Guardian today about Katie going into hiding and fearing for her life and last week’s court order to redact her files, it’s not in the usual corporate media channels where it really should be HEADLINE NEWS!
