We’re willing to bet that when it comes to your dream beach holiday, Cornwall isn’t the first or 10th place that comes to mind. But the southwestern tip of England is home to rugged mountains, largely unspoilt beaches, sparkling blue water and picturesque seaside towns, among others. Your art tour Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Park (to visit the former studio of the modernist sculptor) and Lich ceramics (the working studio is famous for its combination of British and Japanese traditions). Then, pop into the city’s Fore Street gallery, where you’ll find paintings, sculptures and jewelery from established and emerging talent. 👟 Cornwall is full dozens of other villages and small settlementsmany of which are within driving distance of St Ives. Head to Penzancea historic port known for its art deco food scene Jubilee pooland its proximity Mount St. Michael (an ancient island with a castle straight out of a storybook). You can also go to the beach Porthcurnohome to one of Cornwall’s most memorable beaches and open air Minak Theater — which is prominently located on the side of a mountain and hosts more than 200 live shows a year. Finally, the adventurous species should not be missed Saint Agnesa famous north coast surf spot that by law you must try Porcupine Ice Cream Chapel Port Beach Cafe.
🍴 If you are also a pastry connoisseur, start with it St Ives Bakery for traditional Cornish sourdough, sourdough bread and jam-packed cruffins (that’s right, a croissant-muffin hybrid). For fresh seafood with a side of great ocean views, try the tapas-style plates Porthmeor Beach Cafe (fried hack is impossible) or Portminster Beach Cafe an upscale Asian-Mediterranean menu that includes garlic-butter king prawns, locally caught squid and, yes, fish and chips. Or head back to Fore Street for a treat Ardor’s signature dishes in Spanishsuch as seafood paella or pork ribs with quince and rosemary glaze.
