Summer’s most comfortable styles tend to be light and airy, but they don’t always accommodate fuller busts. Of course you can find occasional dress or that one piece you can get year after year, but what about crop tops, bows, cut-out jumpsuits, or bathing suits with real support? We’ve scoured the bestseller lists and (web)pages for years to find beautiful, high-quality tops, dresses, and apparel that prioritize comfort and support without sacrificing style.
A top that doesn’t show your bra straps…
We love this easy tank from Old Navy for the thick straps and double-layer jersey material. It hugs and supports the body without restriction. It’s a great base layer (or a single layer for when it’s scorching-hot). Oh, and it’s less than $20.
A tank top that should be layered over…
We asked an editor style this one piece and since then she has added every color to her cart. Thanks to the fitted body (shorts included) underneath, it works with sports bras, regular bras or braless. Throw it on with a pair of sandals for a quick jog or casual picnic.
Luxury 100% European linen linen for outdoor brunches…
The key to nailing a midi dress with a fuller bust comes down to finding the right silhouette. Replace the usual “bag” dress, which does nothing for the figure, with this A-line option. It features adjustable straps and a full-length hem for extra comfort, and a flared skirt that won’t keep you hot.
A lace romper that’s fitted but not tight…
Disposable patterns are a time saver during those busy summer months. You can throw this romper on with Converse and a bag for a casual day look, or with kitten heels and a matching clutch for a night out. A cinched waist prevents it from becoming boxy, while lace detailing adds extra flair.
The maxi dress you can wear at night in…
One of our shopping editors wore this dress to a wedding rehearsal dinner and confirmed that it was more comfortable than she expected. Each layer is long and light, but not transparent. The open back is also high enough to cover your bra strap – a real feat.
A bathing suit that is appropriate for the period…
We A big fan of Knix’s clothingSo when they came out with leakproof swimming, our editors were all of it. And just as we suspected, these suits are stylish, effective and comfortable for fuller busts. It specifically has compression technology for smoothing, body contouring effects and has an absorption level up to three standard tampons. It also has UPF 50+ protection and keeps girls in place with minimal shoulder or neck stress. PS: You can save 20% on Knix Swim from now until July 13th.
One-piece suit with built-in…
Few brands know shapewear like MiracleSuit knows shapewear. We don’t know what kind of body magic they put into their style, but each piece is stretchy, comfortable and form-fitting in the best possible way. Most of their suits (this one included) have an underwire bra sewn in so you can avoid the horribly baggy look.
A coiled tank that is DD-cop approved…
So many summer tops leave zero room in the closet, but this might be our favorite exception. It’s very light but not sheer, and the halter neck and fully covered back make wearing a bra easy.
High neck dress with enough length…
We love any wood material because it’s durable, comfortable, and whatever the texture is. The entire bodice of this dress is fitted, while the A-line skirt gives it a beautiful hourglass shape. This is a great date night option that you can dress up with heels or down with a denim jacket and sneakers.
A t-shirt outfit that doesn’t feel like a sack of potatoes…
The comfort of an oversized T-shirt with an A-line silhouette is what we love about this under-$20 dress from Walmart (which The summer look is exceptionalby the way). It comes in sizes XS-4X and colors you’ll want to wear well into fall.
A dress that hugs you everywhere…
This t-shirt dress features a seamed waistband that ties in at the front to create a flattering waistline. It is light as air and has two deep pockets.
A tall tank that you can fold up or down…
We love this boat for a few reasons, but the beautiful stretch material on the boat’s sides and neck are probably our two best things. Like most tanks, it’s very versatile and can be paired with jeans and sneakers or a flow-y maxi skirt and ballet flats. Whatever you wear it with, make sure to add a pair of statement earrings to compliment the neckline.
An office-approved blouse you can wear on weekends…
A beautiful selection of our Paris season. This blouse is wider in the chest area and is fitted at the waist to create an almost peplum shape that we pair with a long maxi skirt or skinny pants. Reviewers recommend sizing up if you’re in between sizes.
A cropped button-down shirt that you can wear with anything…
White button-downs are to summer what LBDs are to fall and winter (and possibly spring, too): a must-have. This one from Buck Mason is extremely high quality, meaning it holds up well in the wash and won’t yellow over time. Given that it’s slightly cropped, we love pairing it with high-waisted denim shorts or layering it over a maxi dress as extra sun protection.
A comfortable piece that is basically an instant outfit…
In case you haven’t heard, it’s officially a Sports summerand we will add this one piece suit to the shopping list. It’s like a lounge suite, but has cutouts in the back as well as wide armholes to keep you cool and comfortable – especially on hot travel days.
