Cranberries and pumpkin seeds are well tested for prostate hypertrophy.
More than 50% of men over the age of 50 and at least 70% of men over the age of 60 to suffer from benign prostatic hypertrophy or BPH, otherwise known as enlarged prostate. This can lead to severe lower urinary tract symptoms, such as having to urinate frequently at night. Although current medical treatments are clinically effective, side effects and low compliance rates compromise their effectiveness. Signs include sexual dysfunction, advanced prostate cancer and depression. Not surprisingly, there is poor compliance. And during drug treatment failssurgical procedures, such as transurethral resection of the prostate gland – are considered. There must be a better way.
Population study suggests that low consumption of animal protein and high consumption of fruits and vegetables can protect, but this is not just about reducing any animal protein. Eggs and poultry appeared to be the worst, along with refined grains, but no association was found for red meat or milk. Population studies aside, are there any foods that have been tested? In fact, there are became more than 30 randomized controlled trials of weed Saw palmetto. And it turned out to be… completely useless.
Apparently, there were cranberries is used by Native Americans to treat urinary disorders. Were they effective? You won’t know until you put them to the test. Study participants consumer About a teaspoon a day (about 3 g) of powdered whole berries—not those sugary, fatty “craisins”—experienced significant improvements in BPH symptoms, quality of life, and all urinary parameters.
So we know a teaspoon will do, but what about a third of a teaspoon or a sixth of a teaspoon? They helped too, as you can see below and at 2:05 in my video Natural diet remedies for enlarged prostate BPH. (Results from one teaspoon of powdered cranberries are from previous studies represent with the green line below.)

Now, this study (with graph) is used supplement because it is sponsored by a supplement company, but the supplement is just cranberry powder. So you can also buy it in bulk for less and just add it to a smoothie or something.
As for the tastier option, e.g to drink purple grape juice? There is no benefit.
Earlier, I talked about the possible use of flax have therapeutic effectiveness is comparable to commonly used drugs and only good side effects. So what about other seeds? Pumpkin seeds, apparently is used in folk medicine for centuries as a cure for prostatitis and in a petri dish they can halve the growth of BPH prostate cells as you can see below and at 2:48 in mine. video.

Scientists have too injection pumpkin seed extracts for rabbits, but about humans?
Pumpkin seed oil appears to help with prostate problems. When taken head-to-head against the drug Prazosin, it it seemed works like a cocoon. The same thing happened when it went head-to-head against the drug Terazozin. But what the study did not have was a placebo group. It would be nice to see how well the pumpkin seed oil supplement worked against the placebo. Or better – whole pumpkin seeds. In fact, there is such a study! There were more than a thousand men accidental to receive pumpkin seed extract, a placebo, or about one teaspoon per day (about 7.5 g) of plain pumpkin seeds.
The research was funded by the pharmaceutical company that produced the supplement, but the supplement was discontinued; it was no better than placebo. Even pumpkin seeds worked. The supplement appeared to reduce symptoms, but no better than placebo. However, only old seeds did. So it wasn’t just a compound that was extracted from oil. In fact, we have since then learned that even the oil-free extracts appeared. In short, researchers concludedis that pumpkin seeds can be recommended for patients with mild symptoms of BPH. This was the conclusion sounded by the European equivalent of the US Food and Drug Administration: Pumpkin seeds can be used to relieve lower urinary tract symptoms associated with prostate enlargement after a medical doctor has ruled out more serious conditions.
