From Executive Team to Industry Leader: Carol’s Journey
Carol’s first book, ten years after leaving the executive team of McGraw-Hill, brought her 1-man business more than $2 million in consulting revenue, with 106 of America’s largest and most influential companies as clients and industry-leading status. A few years later, he wrote a series of training manuals on his corner of the world of corporate finance, which were sold to the world’s largest corporations, honing his skills in building a book business.
Then, in the late 1990s, he decided to reinvent himself and go back to his book publishing roots by creating Executive Authors to help other authors get the right book for their specific business development goals, the right business for their book to work its magic, and the right plan of action to see the right part of their market, just like he did.
He also helped authors find the right and wrong book awards out of the 10,000+ awarded each year. And he continued to write books that brought him prospects and customers and applied for some awards himself.
After his industry friends found out that he won 75% of the quality awards, they asked him to reveal his system to their author-clients and know how to make the most of the winnings. And so, the Book Mastery Award was born. . . but with a twist and not like the usual book award service.
Carol used to tell her executive author clients that an award is as useless as a book without a multi-disciplinary, multi-disciplinary action plan, so her vision for the Book Award Mastery was to go beyond the industry standard of just researching and applying for awards, to a joint focus on achieving the author’s goals and practical planning to achieve real results.
