In episode 277 threat podcast, The host was joined by Dennis “The Threat” James Jose Raymond and Milos Sarcev, and the conversation quickly turned to the Open lineup at the 2026 Detroit Pro, where the hatred of abs became a serious issue.
What Happened at Detroit Pro 2026?
The 2026 Detroit Pro went down on March 14, and the Open Cup went to the eventual winner, Muhammad Foda, while Barakat Awodibu was second and Elias McCall was third. During the podcast, footage of the final call was shown on stage, drawing criticism from the panel. Milosh Sarchev began his observations, noting that Mohamed Foda, born in Egypt, is becoming a competitor in the world arena, “but it seems that he also cannot control his extravagances,” said “Aql”. Host Dennis James agreed, noting that it was a matter of who could control the muscles best to hide the cleavage, prompting Sarchev to joke about who looked the most pregnant on stage. “Let’s decide what to call it,” said Sartsev.
Podcast panel slams “bulky stomachs” in bodybuilding
In the world of bodybuilding, the distended stomach has long been criticized. And Arnold Schwarzenegger said, “This is unacceptable the way bodybuilding is going. We don’t want to see stomachs. We want to see the most handsome man, the most athletic man.” But why do those who spend so much time improving their bodies end up with bulging bellies? Apparently, everything is in preparation. Drug use is one major issue and digestion is another. Even dehydration or high carbohydrate intake can be a factor.
Milos Sarchev points out that this phenomenon did not exist in the 60s, 70s and 80s and asks why judges tolerate it now. “In the 1990s, when this happened, they immediately made a rule, like a big stomach would be punished,” he said. Sarchev said that according to the rules of the Arnold Classic, a bloated stomach can lead to disqualification or last place. “If you have a stomach, you should be silenced,” Sartsev agreed. “It bothered me,” The Menace said of what he saw at the Detroit Pro.
“Bodybuilding should have a narrow waist, a small waist, a flat stomach,” continued Sartsev. “This is how bodybuilding should be.”
