One of the biggest takeaways from developing the Skimm Shopping newsletter lately? It’s Walmart Oh, it’s back and Skimm’rs can’t get enough. The big box retailer has grown its clothing division significantly, and Brandon Maxwell has been reborn behind one of its best in-house brands, Free Assembly and Scoop. That’s why I’ve rounded up some of the best finds on Walmart’s website under $50. We have a mix of designer dupes and affordable finds that look much more expensive than they are.
A laptop sleeve that fits your laptop…
At 18 inches wide, this faux leather bag is the perfect choice for travel. It fits your laptop along with a pair of flats and other workday essentials. The striped detail makes it a dresser and keeps everything secure. It also has long straps and a magnetic closure.
About $20 kitten heels…
Comfortable heels are hard to find, let alone overpriced ones. I love the Time and Tru options because they are on trend, get the job done, and are super cheap. The pointed toe and silhouette make this pair perfect for weddings or the office.
A pair of strappy sandals from one of our popular brands…
Our CEO swears by these strappy heels for vacation because they look great with everything, they’re easy to lace up, and they’re comfortable to wear. PS: Check out the other hall of fame styles we can’t get enough of Here.
Some dupes for the Repetto heeled flats..
I looked Camille Flats Repetto not long ago, but I can’t justify the near $500 price tag. In a deep internet dive, I found this $25 pair at Walmart and immediately bought them. I love wearing them with everything from jeans to dresses. Just note that I need to go down a size.
Beautiful dress Hill House Skimm’rs buy again and again…
Skimm’s obsessed with this smock dress. It reminds me of Hill House at a fraction of the cost, plus it’s an easy outfit that you can wear with flats, sneakers or sandals. Perfect for those days when it’s so hot you don’t know what to wear.
Lace camisole approved by Miranda Priestly…
In honor of The Devil Wears Prada 2, Scoop created a collection before the release of the film. There are so many designer pieces, but this cami is a standout. Choose from three color options. You can wear it on its own or under a blazer. Don’t forget short to go with it.
A jacket silhouette that is very modern…
Call me crazy, but Walmart is one of the best places to try on trendy silhouettes that you don’t want to spend a ton on (especially if you’re not 100% sure how it will look on you). This blouson jacket style is so flattering and I love this white jacket for cool summer nights. It is made of 99% cotton with some stretch.
An office-appropriate outfit that spring gave…
This aqua shift dress is another solid item for the office. You can go out the door or decorate it with some accessories. Add a pair of heels and you can take it for after-dinner drinks.
An asymmetrical dress ready for your next vacation…
When I first saw it, I thought it was a dress. It’s really just Madden NYC doing the most, with airy floral details and a bright but not too bright oil yellow. I will add this white clutch and a pair of minimal sandals.
A wrap dress that feels modern…
This fresh vibe reminds me of the Limited Too’s big sister and I’m all for it. Between the pale yellow color and the racing tank design, no one would guess you got it for $34. If you have an undergrad and don’t want to spend (feel) more than you already have, check this out.
Eyewear for every situation…
Since Doen with Top Traveler itit feels like every brand has created their own version. This one from Free Assembly looks very similar, but made with a camera. I pair this with white jeans and call it a day.
A peplum top under $30…
These scaffold tops are everywhere this season and once again I want to spend less on a trend that I’m not sure will last. This comes in a bright popsicle orange that is surprisingly easy to wear. I go for chestnut leather accessories.
A cutting-edge bag that’s perfect for tasks…
If you are looking for a stylish bag that is practical but still beautiful, go for this bag. It’s a medium bucket bag, so it holds all your essentials. Sometimes I need a dressy, roomy bag (not this one). nylon strap). This checks the boxes.
A short sleeve sweater that makes a statement…
I’m always looking for a fun top for the warmer months that isn’t a t-shirt. This embroidered sweater has tons of bright embroidery appliqués that will do the hard work of decorating for you. Wear it on its own with a pair of jeans or with a tank.
Some of the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever worn…
This wide leg pair from No Boundaries has an elasticated waistband at the back which makes them comfortable to wear. I always go for a light wash for spring and summer, but this $17 style comes in seven colors in three different lengths.
And a cute pair of pants to wear with sandals…
These flared jeans are the easiest silhouette to wear with sneakers or jeans because they show just the right amount of skin. They come in both white and blue washes, and they’re made with 1% spandex for some stretch.
A basic cardigan to keep in your bag…
Because when the ACs are on, you can’t go wrong with a cheap and simple cardigan. This color comes in five different colors, but I choose white because it goes with everything. And because it’s so light, it fits nicely in most totes.
The bottom of the statement…
Can you tell I’m in my prime? This button down is great because you can wear it on its own or as a statement piece. It has feminine floral designs and matching pants.
The seamless midi dress we buy in every color…
There’s no better time to stock up on midi dresses than now. They’re basically my go-to outfit for summer because they’re easy to switch up with accessories. This one from Free Assembly has a sweet detail along the neckline. I would buy it in black and sky blue.
