Steak and eggs is a breakfast classic that can instantly improve your morning. Whether you’re relaxing on a lazy weekend, meeting friends for lunch, or wanting a protein-packed start to the day, the combination of juicy steak and scrambled eggs remains a comfort food for many diners. But not every restaurant chain gets the balance right. To find out which spots really make a difference, eat this, not that! asked Brad Johnson, CEO Verde Farmsa leading U.S. provider of USDA-certified organic, 100% beef, and 100% ground beef, for their top three recommendations, always serving up the best steak and eggs.

A great steak and eggs dish needs balance, tasty sides like fries and gravy, and it needs to be cooked to perfection.

“You want beef that actually tastes like beef, not overcooked, not drowned in seasoning, just a good gravy and a little bit of fat that has flavor,” Johnson says. “Although I prefer the traditional steak and eggs breakfast, it’s nice to have a more upscale option every now and then.”

When it comes to Southern classics and comfort food, Cracker Barrel is invincible.

“For cheap, home-style steak and eggs, Cracker Barrel is the place to be,” says Johnson. “A hearty 10-ounce steak topped with hash browns and eggs any way you like, it’s perfect for a quick, high-protein breakfast.”

The first visit is a place to eat food prepared by a chef, fresh, tasty and made with high quality ingredients. Known for its signature breakfast menu and made-from-scratch approach, the chain has become a favorite of diners looking for classic comfort food with a more modern, polished twist.

“In Chimichurri steak and eggs is not your traditional steak and egg dish,” says Johnson. The dish has “a spicy twist with peppers, onions, steak, a cage-free egg, and a delicious chimichurri sauce.”

Cafe 393 isn’t a big chain — it has several locations around the Nashville area, and it’s worth a try, Johnson says.

“Steak and eggs, plain and simple—sirloin and perfectly cooked eggs, however you like them,” he said. One trick he’s learned is to upgrade to “a hash brown casserole for your side and grab a muffin to go later.”
