ASN Announces Food Program 2026 in Washington, DC


The NUTRITION 2026 schedule is now available – sessions on AI-powered dietary tools, obesity treatment and GLP-1, regulation of nutritional supplements and the future of dietary guidance.

Rockville, MD (April 9, 2026) – The American Society for Nutrition (ASN) has announced a plenary session, presidential symposium and other program features for its annual meeting. Nutrition 2026which will be held July 25-28 in Mill Harbor, Maryland, outside of Washington, DC. The meeting invites a global and multidisciplinary audience, including researchers, clinicians, educators, industry leaders and policymakers, to explore the science and critical challenges shaping the future of nutrition.

At a time of rapid scientific progress, increasing public interest and evolving policy priorities, NUTRITION 2026 provides a forum for scientific exchange and collaboration across disciplines, sectors and boundaries, strengthening ASN’s role as a trusted convener for the global nutrition community.

special session, Dietary Guidelines at the Crossroads: Science, Practice, and Innovationwill examine science, processes, and real-world implications Dietary Guidelines for Americans. This session is designed to move from criticism to constructive dialogue that will strengthen the role of the nutrition science community in strengthening the rigor, relevance, and impact of dietary guidelines.

The Presidential Symposium complements this discussion by One Health in a Global Context: Food Systems, Nutrition and Human Healthwill emphasize the important role of food science in relation to agriculture, food systems and human health. Featuring international leaders from CGIAR and ICDDR, the session will explore how climate-resilient agriculture, diverse food systems and local solutions translate into healthier diets and better outcomes, especially for women and children in climate-stressed and food-insecure environments.

Together, these sessions reflect the breadth of food science today—from national policy to global systems—and underscore ASN’s commitment to advancing science that both guides and informs real-world impacts.
