How to change your life with your muscles!
Our modern diet is the leading cause of many of our health problems, from heart disease and diabetes to cancer and Alzheimer’s disease, and most other diseases in between. How can this be?
Food has been captured by the food industry as the most profitable and legally addictive product through the development of food cravings, through many advertising and promotional campaigns to young and old people, as well as public authorities who are supposed to protect us.
The modern human diet is based mainly (up to 75 percent) on highly processed foods that lack essential nutrients and fiber and usually contain high amounts of sugar and unhealthy fats, as well as many additives that are foreign to the human body. We buy these products because they “taste great” and are convenient in our busy lives. They are produced with great care to make sure that they make us want to taste them!
How do we get back to eating healthy foods with such challenges?
The first stage
- Ask yourself what kind of unhealthy food you are eating right now, then decide to eat less of it.
- Ask yourself what are the healthiest foods you eat now, then eat more of them.
The second stage
- Decide why you want to be healthier, then consider whether you can change your diet to achieve this.
The third stage
Lead the millions of “Blue Zone” people who often live active and healthy lives for over a hundred years. Their diet can only be summed up by the acronym “GBOMBS”, which represents the main ingredients of 95 percent of their diet.
- G for as many green vegetables as you can handle.
- B for every type of bean you can find is a superfood for our gut microbiome.
- O is for the entire onion family, from spring onions to garlic.
- M is for mushrooms, a huge group that is neither plant nor animal, but has amazing health benefits.
- B is for berries, a variety from strawberries to blueberries.
- S is for seeds and nuts, which are the densest nutrients that support life.

Include all of the above as much as possible in your food choices and you’ll be on your way to the healthiest diet in the world: a whole foods plant-based diet!
The fourth stage
Changing lifestyle habits can take time. That’s fine, the direction of change is important.
Have the serenity to accept what you can’t change in your diet and lifestyle right now, the courage to change what you feel, and the wisdom to know the difference.
