Plant parts that make a big difference…
A few of my plants are really stunted now that it’s summer and they’re getting more light, so I bought some plant stakes to help them grow and keep them supported. They arrived on the weekend and I got to work right away. I am very happy with the result. All my plants are much happier – no bent branches or leaning leaves. As a proud member of the union committee, I’ve always been a little jealous of friends who can dress up and instantly have an irreverent cleavage. Sometimes I want to lift and shape a little to make the dress I was picturing. This detangling and lifting pack from Body Cakes does just that. I felt supported, my clothes fit the way I wanted, and I got all the benefits of a bra without the actual bra straps. No outfit makes me feel more confident than a white t-shirt with jeans and my shorts choose a white t-shirt always was That’s it from Buck Mason. So when they released new tees in thick cotton with a lively feel, you can be sure I got my hands on them. I don’t know how they do it, but this t-shirt fits perfectly and hits my waist perfectly. I like that cotton is more substantial and menswear. Reduced pocket t-shirt also great if you’re going for a baby boomer and i pray V-neck one returns in stock, because I predict the fall V-neck. I admit they are expensive, but they hold up well in the wash, trust me. — Martha Upton
A pair of throwback shorts we can’t resist wearing…
I bought these Uniqlo shorts a few weeks ago and can’t get enough of them. They are a traditional boxer silhouette, but they are not visible. I love that they have an internal strap and I find that in addition to being comfortable, they make any outfit a little cooler. – Margot Gertner
An unexpected discovery of a pottery warehouse…
As a woman in my thirties, one of my greatest pleasures in life is treating myself to a little treat at The Pottery Barn. I searched the other week these coffee mugsbut I walked out of the house smelling the freshest summer ever, instead. When I smelled this, I literally felt my heart rate slow, my shoulders sag, and my imagination transported to an English amusement park. It smells exactly like walking through a row of wild garlic trees on a dark summer night. I got the room spray, but as I now live in fear of this scent going off, I also stock up on some candles. – Carolyn Goldstein
A functional summer bag…
Summer bags are just my favorite. Since I’m someone who usually wears black or neutrals, I like to make a statement with a colorful and textured purse. Ideally one that I can sit around all day and fit in my wallet, phone, hand sanitizer, and summer reading. This was my first time trying a bag from Andre Asus and I have to say I was impressed. I got a small woven bucket bag in cognac so I can wear it with everything. Spoiler: I do. This is the perfect warm weather bag to carry your essentials in comfort and style. The easiest way to enhance a dinner party…
Now that my partner and I have fully decorated our apartment, we are ready to host. Because we are at our most "older" home, we want our hosting style to convey the same message. So we traded in our usual meal for this ridiculously delicious rice from Rice Market. I was skeptical at first because what do you mean they send you raw sushi-grade fish the same day? But they do. And it’s great. Everything is wonderfully packaged and easy to assemble. You only need to heat the rice and mix the ingredients together, and they taste fresh and look great. I am already planning to book for my birthday party in September. — Alessandra Rey
