What I tested…

Why did I test…

Test results…

  • Ease of use. While I find Crest Whitestrips effective, for me they are a challenge. On top of spending at least 30 minutes in one sitting, I find that they slide around. With SNOW whitening strips, they only take about 20 minutes in one sitting, and when they’re completely melted, you know you’re done.

  • Efficiency. My dental hygienist told me that because there is a low concentration of hydrogen peroxide in these whitening strips, it takes time to see results. I have been using them for six weeks and my teeth are noticeably brighter and whiter. Not to the point where I had them professionally done, but very happy with the end result. They look natural which I personally like the most. I also found that the purple color correction version was more effective. Maybe it’s an optical illusion of the purple canceling out some of the yellow staining on my teeth, but both immediately and over time I noticed a more consistent glow from the purple version.

  • Price. The most annoying thing about these strips is that they are individually wrapped, meaning unlike the Crest, you don’t get a top strip and a bottom strip in the same package. Instead, you get about 40 individual strips, which will leave you with less over time (depending on how often you use them and if you do your upper and lower teeth at the same time). For context, Crest is around $1.25 for both top and bottom, while SNOW is $1-2 for a single strip.

Sides…

  • I have sensitive teeth, so I find that I can only use them for three days in a row before I start to feel sore. I’ll take a break for a few days and then I’ll be back.
