In April, a few weeks after Stephanie’s death, Nippard gave the following assessment. “I’m not sure if many of you know this, but during her PhD, she studied a protein called RHAMM and found that it could help detect ovarian cancer early,” she said. “I’ve read so many of your posts over the past few weeks and the support has helped us all. Stephanie’s mom loves hearing the stories about how different her daughter is. We talk almost every day and it’s been incredibly hard, but we’re doing it together.”
