Kathryn Ayers, Ph.D., ABPP, holds dual appointments with the VA San Diego Health System as director of the La Jolla Outpatient Mental Health Clinic and the University of California, San Diego as an assistant professor of psychiatry at UCSD. Dr. Ayers is also a faculty member of the SDSU/UCSD Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Ayers’ research program focuses on the treatment and neuropsychiatric characterization of anxiety and hoarding disorders. His research on psychotherapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder has been funded by the International OCD Foundation and the Veterans Health Administration. Dr. Ayers is the author of more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and more than ten book chapters on hoarding and anxiety disorders across the lifespan.
