Sam Sulek made his professional debut at Arnold 2026, just one year after earning his IFBB Pro card, but the social media star is hoping to bring a tougher, leaner, leaner physique to 2026 after cracking the top ten in Columbus.
“For Arnold, Columbus, the goal was to do better than last year’s Arnold, Columbus.” Sulek explained on March 8about his hopes for his transition from amateur to professional. “I think I got it for me. I definitely had a cooler, tougher look,” he said. “There were some side-by-side shots, especially the side triceps. There was a picture that someone made where they put last year’s Sam together with this year’s Sam. ‘Yeah, I did a good job,'” he said.

Inside Sam Sulek’s 10,000 calorie carb loading day
However, with Arnold UK just days away, Sulek’s thoughts have now turned to his next competition and the bodybuilder has told his YouTube followers that he plans to do it all over again, but this time with a fuller, leaner and tighter look. “How do I do this?” Sulek asked rhetorically. “Well, treats are officially off the menu,” he said. “In terms of total calorie intake, it was definitely a wild carb day.”
While “carbing” is an important part of presenting a fuller body on stage and can increase muscle glycogen stores to double their normal resting levels, a carbohydrate loading phase is recommended should include foods that are likely to cause digestive problems that cause inflammation and even bloating. Those who watched Sulek’s vlog on Arnold’s day were pre-judged will know that the big man seriously tests his digestive tract, but he explained that in the day before the judgment, he ate 10,000 calories, including 2,265 grams of carbohydrates and 129 grams of fat. Sulek revealed that much of this comes from ultra-processed foods like McDonald’s, which don’t help with a lot of clean intake. “So we’re going back to the deficit, we’re going to put cardio back into the mix,” he explained of the strategy leading up to his UK pro debut. Like all athletes, the great man is in a constant process of trial and error, but he seems to be learning through experience and we can’t wait to see the package that Sam Sulek has to offer in Birmingham at the Arnold UK from 27 to 29 March 2026.
