Daybird 4-in-1 Serum Skin Color ($39.50)
Why did I test…
Test results…
-
The color I used the shade “Light”, although I think the next shade would have been more suitable for my skin tone. Although it was on the lighter side, it didn’t leave a white cast and helped cover any redness on my skin.
-
SPF protection. Unlike regular sunscreens, this serum felt incredibly light and luxurious during and after application. The color offers a much higher SPF (50) than most tinted mineral formulas I’ve tried, so I felt protected all morning and after reapplying.
-
Compliance. While the consistency of the liquid was very runny, it dried quickly and had a smooth finish. The formula felt a little heavy overall, so I paired it with a light moisturizer instead of my usual thick moisturizer. It made all the difference.
-
Suitable for sensitive skin. I’m happy to report that the formula didn’t irritate my eyes, which was a huge win. It is said to contain niacinamide, which means you should be careful about layering it with a moisturizer that contains the same ingredient, as too much can potentially lead to breakouts. Otherwise, I have no complaints.
-
Save time. I was able to skip my primer and foundation and loved view It effectively replaces multiple steps in my morning routine and saves me time when I need it most.
-
Retention of power. Short: wears beautifully without pilling. Durability: While this kept my overall look fresh and light, I did notice that my other makeup faded a little faster than usual at the end of the day. But I was happy to see that unlike other sunscreens, it doesn’t leave my oily skin feeling greasy or shiny by midday.
Sides…
-
With only four shades, the range is limited at the moment in my opinion. I’d like to see more options on the fair and deep sides of the spectrum.
