Why was Lizzie tested…
How Lizzie was tested…
For two months, I incorporated a new Sonsie product into my skincare routine every day to really see the impact. I made notes along the way about my skin’s texture, tone, and moisture levels.
Test results…
-
Cleansing mousse. The first thing I noticed about this mousse was its silky smooth texture. It felt like a cloud washed over your face. It’s lightweight and very gentle on my skin unlike other grain cleansers I’ve tried in the past. I also like that it has soothing aloe vera juice to keep my skin hydrated. ($32)
-
Super Serum This is my favorite product of the bunch. It moisturizes but dries very quickly, making it ideal for layering under makeup. I used it every day, but because it absorbs so well, I quickly went through the (beautiful) bottle. At $64, it’s a bit of an investment, but I’m happy to report that it’s worth it for a product that gets so much use. ($64)
-
Cream Adapt. I have mixed feelings about this. I resorted to it on days when my skin was red or just irritated and it was a huge help. “Toy green” is meant to combat redness, which it did – but it didn’t blend in completely, leaving faint green spots. Because of this, I don’t wear this outside the house. It’s also considered “mid-weight,” but it’s one of the heavier creams I’ve tried. ($58)
-
Multi Moisture Cream. I already know this cream will be my skin’s winter hero. It is so nutritious because it is rich – and it Succession– rich level. I loved using it overnight when the air in my house felt extremely dry and I woke up with hydrated skin that didn’t feel greasy. I’m excited to have it on hand when the dreaded New York winter hits. ($48)
-
Basic balm. This lip balm is a staple. It’s ultra-moisturizing, but instead of leaving a greasy residue, it leaves a shiny, glossy finish. I wouldn’t necessarily use this as an overnight treatment because I don’t think it’s that long-lasting considering how light it is. Instead, I keep it in my bag for quick hydration throughout the day. ($22)

Cleansing mousse. This product feels like a dream. The texture is very silky and really left my face feeling clean, but it didn’t wash off after use. The glass bottle also made it feel incredibly luxe, although I found that the pump handle often got stuck. I haven’t used this to remove a full face of makeup, but rather on light makeup days or in the morning, so I can’t speak to its full makeup capabilities. That said, the citrus scent was a perfect morning. ($32)
-
Super Serum This product feels high based on the packaging alone. I loved that it was so lightweight and there seemed to be no wrong way to use it (day or night, mixed with moisturizer or alone, you can’t go wrong). ($64)
-
Cream Adapt. I’ve used a few green tinted moisturizers in the past and they usually blend well. This cream didn’t work, which made me wonder if the green color was really effective. But the texture was lovely and worked on my sensitive skin even if I had breakouts, redness or irritation. ($58)
-
Multi Moisture Cream. I loved this product, especially at the beginning of the year when New York was having one of its worst winters. It felt so rich and I loved that I could use less or more depending on what my skin needed that day. Sometimes I would just do a light layer, sometimes I would load more for a bit of a “mask” effect. I also loved that the packaging allowed me to use every last drop, which I definitely did. ($48)
-
Basic balm. I prefer my balms on the thicker side, but I loved how easily it glided on and the high, glossy finish. It was the perfect last step in my daily routine. ($22)
Sides…
-
Stability. We really appreciate the fact that Sonsi is plastic-negative, meaning they remove more plastic from the earth than they use. Their packaging is also reusable. According to their site, co-founder Pamela Anderson tosses a packet of plant-based Adapt Cream in her garden compost for later use.
-
Components. Sonsie’s formulas are vegan, cruelty free and paraben free. Each product is manufactured according to European Union standards (they prohibit or restrict the use of more than 1,300 harmful ingredients, while the US restricts or prohibits less than 30 substances). Each product is also formulated and dermatologically tested for all skin types.
-
Brand mission. As we mentioned, we’re excited about Ms. Pam’s return to the red carpet stage. Her new brand is about embracing authenticity in beauty, highlighting the differences that make us unique and knowing your worth. love
