A top and shorts combo that is perfect for hot days…
“On days when it’s at least 95 degrees in Atlanta, I’ve been reaching for a duo from Uniqlo. The tank top is made from a ribbed knit that’s soft and stretchy, and it has a built-in bra (that’s one less extra layer). I love pairing it with these easy cotton shorts. I have spoken about extensively. They have a boxer silhouette, wide pockets and a long belt. – Margot Gertner
Gap pants that look like designer…
“I was looking for similar cotton pants Donnie and Lesetbut I didn’t want to spend a ton. I recently found these new pants from Gap and can’t stop wearing them. They are the perfect soft summer pants because of the stylish silhouette and best of all, I don’t get hot in them. They also come in tall and short lengths. ” — Margot Gertner
A necklace that makes any outfit feel more summery…
“Every summer, I buy a new statement necklace to add to my stack, and this one from Lacey Ryan is my pick for 2026. It makes even the most basic of outfits feel chic, and I know it will transition well into fall. The sub-$100 price point is also great. I pair it with it all the time. my daily sunshine.” – Margot Gertner
Capri pants with easy style…
“These were my entry point into the capri trend and I wore them every week. They’re a lot easier to fit than you might think, they’re great with flip-flops, ballet flats and sneakers. They’re also the most comfortable leggings I own, regardless of the length. The material is ridiculously soft, so they can give you real body.) hot days feel no limit.” – Carolyn Goldstein
The perfect t-shirt…
“I can safely say that this is the best cotton T-shirt I’ve ever worn. It really hugs your body perfectly—not too tight, not too baggy—and it’s cut ever so slightly so it shows just a little bit of skin with a regular low or mid-rise. The material isn’t flimsy, so I can get away with bras these days.” That is most of the days in this heat.” – Carolyn Goldstein
An alternative to cute girl sneakers…
“These are what I reach for when I’m tired of wearing sneakers, but the vibes aren’t quite as good for sandals. They’re just as comfortable as you’d expect from Adidas, and the lace-up style is more secure than your average home — perfect for walking around town. They instantly turn a pair of jackets and t-shirts into a cool outfit.” – Carolyn Goldstein
A pair of linen pants kept in the wash…
“When it comes to pants in the summer, I just wear loose-fitting clothes that don’t cause torture. Longer shorts can be uncomfortable for me – longer shorts ride up between my thighs when I walk, and short shorts have never been my thing. I always go for wide-leg pants that don’t weigh me down. Well, I restock them every year.” — Alexandra Napoli
A t-shirt we wouldn’t mind splurging on…
“Lightweight t-shirts are for me, and this Buck Mason dress has a box cut, so it doesn’t cling to my body. If I start sweating, I don’t get that instant sweat line. I love neutral colors because you can pair it with any bottom (linen or denim) and you have a really simple but cute shirt. Side, but I’ve invested in four and I’ll be wearing them all summer long.” — Alexandra Napoli
A pair of Birkenstocks we wish we’d bought sooner…
“I bought my first pair of Birkenstocks this summer, and boy, I’m never going back. After an initial break-in period that was definitely rough (pro tip: wear them with socks for the first week), these shoes are now the perfect fit for my feet. They’re ridiculously comfortable, so I wear them for everything. A staple and I’m so glad I finally bit the bullet and got them.” — Alexandra Napoli
Cover the tank with any substance…
“Finding cute summer tops when you have a larger bust can be difficult. We can’t do without a bra. So every summer I reach for this seamless muscle tank from Athleta. It has the comfort and length of a workout tank, but the classic cut makes it versatile. I have a black, brown, and white dress. Use as a base layer: If this is sold in your size, I’d love to. This is an alternative version.” — Alessandra Rey
A pair of unlimited denim shorts…
“My rule for wearing denim in the summer is that it has to have an elastic waistband. It’s too hot for a solid material without any stretch. I love these paper shorts because they literally feel like gym shorts. I love the light wash because I tend to wear it with darker tops (no deep spots here), and I love the short waistband. Nice and high.” — Alessandra Rey
A pair of sneakers that will never give us blisters…
“Whether I’m traveling in Peru or Europe or walking around my neighborhood in Brooklyn, I almost always bring my Adidas Grand Court sneakers. Not only do they feel like they’re broken in right out of the box, but they cause zero blisters and cover everything. They’re my go-to shoes when I need to wear bare feet or dress up in the summer. You can’t go wrong with these for a long flight.” — Alessandra Rey
100% Cotton Graphic T-Shirt…
“Hands down, my favorite thing to wear when it’s hot is a cropped graphic t-shirt because it looks great with any bottom and is usually made of soft, breathable cotton. This one is especially great with its graphic Japanese logo design and bright colors. Plus, it’s cropped, but not to the point where you feel exposed. It’s a little hint of midriff that you show for those humid days.” — Martha Upton
A short trend we can follow…
“I’m frustrated with the comeback of athleisure shorts. Track shorts, gym shorts, whatever you want to call them, I love that they’ve become acceptable to wear even if you’re not working out. They’re always breathable, sweat-proof, and most of them have liners so you don’t have to wear underwear. Here are my favorites in rotation: A pair of Nikes that goes with something, a couple lacrosse shorts which come in very interesting colors and a Abercrombie pair which are like old school Sweet shorts. — Martha Upton
A pair of comfortable slim sneakers…
“If I’m outside, I wear sneakers. But I absolutely hate it when my feet get hot. I’ve been walking here in Europe and never had that problem. I love skinny sneakers because it pairs well with casual clothes, but also looks great with a summer outfit. The new yellow version is calling my name.” — Martha Upton
