In Part 1 of this series, I described the fun experience of a new idea that popped into my head, a fresh curiosity that I wanted to spend time with and possibly build into an article or more. I wrote about ways to introduce it AI in my writing process and the growing habit of using it for information and research, it changed and disrupted the excitement I always felt in a new curiosity, sense of adventure and pleasure that came with the emergence of a new idea. I noticed that with the “help” of AI, I stopped giving in to my own curiosity and not letting my curiosity guide and dictate. i what he wanted to follow.
My mind made writing an intellectual exercise that I (or more accurately, the AI) now controlled. What I thought or discovered in the past was interesting about a new idea became irrelevant to me. The AI should determine the direction of my exploration. I followed what I considered to be an AI, to suggest what others thought was valuable about my idea. I’ll let AI be my writer and I be its editor.
I shared how the creative process went from something that felt connected to something mysterious and alive. creativity and my curiosity, being something that feels like a book report I have to write. What had been the spark that my body and mind shared was now held hostage in my head. Writing has become a “must” rather than a “want”; a new idea, a fresh curiosity or an idea had turned from a gift to a burden.
I have argued that AI has the power to fundamentally change the creative process of humans and therefore change what we create and who we are. But more importantly, it has the power to change our creative experience, to rob us of creativity panic factor Relying on AI and its wealth of ideas and information and using it to drive and guide ourselves imaginationhas real and profound consequences. Until we are really conscious and disciplined and consult AI as what we are creating can lead us to give AI rights to what we find interesting in what we research and our choices as creators. We can use AI’s ideas as our guide instead of our own internal guide.
The beauty of the creative process is that it allows us to let our needs take control. Creativity invites us to relax and trust that there is something greater, a generative energy within us, a magical space from which all thoughts, ideas, intuitionand wisdom appears, cooperates and cooperates with us in our idea. The nature of creation thinking allows us to not know, to live in questions, to not have all the answers, and not to fill in the unknown with what we already know.
But for most people, not knowing and living in questions is a terrifying experience. If we don’t have the answers, we can’t control—bad things can happen to us. That being said, I wonder if AI will teach us another trick to avoid this place that we hate and don’t know about. fear– unknown, uncertain. Is AI our new way to eliminate uncertainty, an advanced and brilliant way to fill in the unknown with all we know?
It also makes me wonder: do we still believe that there can be something greater than us, a life force that can create independently and that we cannot fully understand? Do we still believe that something can be born that we have absolutely no control over? Is there still room in our lives for mystery, the sense of fear of what is alone? is coming with our acceptance into existence, and all the things we have not done to happen or to do? Furthermore, do we still believe that we don’t know to survive, that answers can come from somewhere outside of us, answers that we are not the author of? Is there something left in our lives that we feel our minds can’t handle and do better?
